Just wanted to let you guys know that there are wonderful things to find while working on the roadway.

I found the hitch pin by pure accident.  I got out of the truck to check a sign and stepped on it.  Whamo, nice hitch pin with clip!

The vise grips are a different story.  I spotted them with my keen eye going about 40 MPH.  I dove over to the shoulder, flipped on my blinky lights and waited for a few cars to go by.  I backed up about 100 feet and there they were, a nice set of vice grips.

It takes years of practice to develop an eye like mine.  Keep your eye open because you just never know what you'll find.
